Description

Kuura is Finnish for hoarfrost, which is a fair account of the dial: frosted silver, printed in grey, under polished blued hands, with a moon painted in blue Super-LumiNova.

This is the Kaaos, the 20th-anniversary piece from S.U.F Helsinki and Sarpaneva Watches, and by S.U.F’s account the first S.U.F to wear Sarpaneva’s moon face. The moonphase is built in the Sarpaneva workshop, its window is painted by hand, and its 29.5-day cycle is set from the crown.

A modified Soprod A10 drives it: automatic, 4 Hz, 42 hours. The 38.7 mm Outokumpu steel case is 9.4 mm thick, with an open caseback and 100 m water resistance. Limited to 20 pieces per variation; a black elk strap and a Grassbay strap come with it.
