Earth 45 Blue Candy

A glossy blue square, 450 mm a side, that writes the time across the wall in words.

BLUE CANDY is polished acrylic glass, its colour built up in several passes of screen printing. Being glossy, it picks up the room around it: windows, lamps, whoever walks past. Behind it, the EARTH 45 lights the words for the time and marks the minutes in between with dots in the corners.

The front is held on magnets and can be changed for another colour or language later; an Arabic front swaps only with another Arabic one. It weighs about 4.8 kg and goes on the wall bracket or the acrylic base, with a light sensor for brightness and precision of ±8 seconds a month.
