Malevich Square 0298
Description
Kazimir Malevich called his Black Square the “zero of forms”, the point from which he rebuilt painting. Raketa put the square on a dial, and cut it from stone.
The dial is agate in black, white and transparent stone with tinting, made by hand, each stone picked for how close it comes to the painting. It was made with the Russian Museum in St Petersburg, home to the Black Square.
Inside is Raketa’s own automatic calibre 2615, made in St Petersburg, with 40 hours of power reserve and a printed, laser-engraved rotor. The 40 mm steel case has a sapphire crystal and a synthetic ruby in the crown. Water resistant to 10 ATM.
It comes on a leather strap with quick-change bars.
