Description

Malevich’s Black Circle is as simple as a painting gets, and yet it won’t sit still: one black circle, pushed off centre towards the upper right. Raketa made this watch with the Russian Museum in Saint Petersburg, home of Malevich’s geometric cycle.

The dial is agate in black, white and tinted clear stone, picked because it looks like the painting.

The 40 mm steel case is 14.05 mm thick, with sapphire over the dial, a mineral glass back and a synthetic ruby in the crown. Inside is Raketa’s automatic calibre 2615 with 40 hours of reserve; its grey rotor carries Malevich’s square, circle and cross. Limited to 500 pieces.

On a leather strap with a quick-change system.
