Mirrored Force Resonance Zeitgeist 1665 3N
Description
The Zeitgeist asks what a resonance watch might have looked like in 1665, had its makers known then what Armin Strom knows now. On the 3N the answer is gold-toned: the skeletonised mainplate and bridges wear a matt 3N yellow gold-coloured coating, picked out by hand-bevelled, polished edges and black-polished screws.
Two complete regulating systems sit side by side. Armin Strom’s patented resonance clutch lets their balances settle into one rhythm, the effect Christiaan Huygens first saw between two pendulum clocks. A flyback pusher sends both seconds hands back to zero together.
The off-centre dial is black polished lacquer, the hands heat-blued steel made in-house. 43 mm of steel on dark grey Alcantara, with 80 hours from the hand-wound ARF21. Limited to 25 pieces, each caseback engraved “1 out of 25”.
