Louis Erard x Horophile La Petite Seconde Metropolis Green
Description
Louis Erard and The Horophile first drew La Petite Seconde Metropolis in slate, salmon and tobacco. This fourth one is green, and in Louis Erard’s words it looks to the future rather than the past.
The style is New York Art Deco redrawn for now, which the pair call neo deco. The centre of the dial is gadrooned in concentric grooves that catch the light, the outer ring and the small seconds at 6 o’clock are satin-finished in circles, and the polished “Empire” hands are skeletonised stepped batons taken from the Empire State Building.
Inside, the automatic Sellita SW261-1 gives around 38 hours, behind a caseback engraved “The Horophile”. 39 mm of polished steel, on light brown calf.
